Resmed Aircurve 10 ST & other Medical Equipments

There are many devices on the market today to assist patients with breathing problems such as COPD, sleep apnea, etc. CPAP. BiPAP, and ventilators are a few to name. It is important to know that while purchasing such medical equipment from a medical equipment store near you, the branded machines are trusted and reliable. Try to connect with a big platform that has everything under one roof, such as Pulmozone, providing quality medical devices such as the Resmed Aircurve 10 ST, AirCurveā„¢ 10 VAuto, Resmed Lumis 150 Bipap with Humidifier and many more. Pulmozone also offers ventilators on rent and motorised beds for home settings.

 BIPAP (E0470)

The Bilevel positive airway pressure machine has two prescribed pressures, one for inhalation (IPAP) and one for exhalation (EPAP). Patients with other breathing disorders, such as severe asthma, may require a lower pressure on the exhalation breath to help them tolerate the treatment. BIPAP can be prescribed for Obstructive Sleep Apnea or for other more severe diagnoses. Each level of pressure is on a particular setting so as to help the patient breathe comfortably.

 BIPAP Auto (E0470)

The basic functionality of BiPAP auto is the same, only the auto BIPAP detects airway closure automatically and increases the two pressures. Consequently, it keeps the airway open.

 BIPAP ST (E0471)

The BIPAP ST is a bi-level positive airway pressure machine that provides non-invasive ventilation with a spontaneous timed back up. It has dual pressure settings and a breath per minute rate that is prescribed. BIPAP ST is designed to initiate a breath for the user, ensuring that the patient is receiving the minimum number of breaths per minute (BPM).

BiPAP is used when CPAP is not tolerated by a patient and the airway is unable to open adequately with CPAP, or when a patient has central sleep apnea. In addition, BiPAP is different from CPAP in terms of functionality. BiPAP’s two pressure settings improve breathing efficiency.

 Ventilator Machines

Ventilators are used for patients who are suffering from severe respiratory problems, meaning they are not able to breathe on their own. The ventilator is a life-saving machine and can be used 24 hours a day in cases where a patient suffers from a neuromuscular disease or a severe traumatic incident. Once the patient is off the ventilator, BiPAP can be easily used to assist the patient’s breathing.

When a patient is being treated at home, ventilators can be use invasively & non-invasively when patients have severe COPD.  It sends oxygen to the lungs and removes carbon dioxide from the body.

CPAP

CPAP is another device that means continuous positive airway pressure. This machine compresses the air drawn from the room and then supplies air through tubes attached to a mask that will be worn on your face. The typical machine used here consists of three main parts.

  • A mask with a strap that fits over the nose or mouth.
  • A tube that connects the mask to the CPAP machine.
  • A motor that rhythmically fills the tube with air.

Some CPAP machines may also include a hot humidifier and a data collector. CPAP is commonly used as an effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea, which basically results as repetition of complete or partial upper airway blockage while a person is asleep. This, in turn, will result in difficulty in getting air into the lungs.
